International Conference on Additive Manufacturing Technology
CNT Expositions and Messe Muenchen India join hands in 2017 to bring new insights in additive manufacturing technology to India’s manufacturing industry. Jointly they will organize the B2B oriented ‘Additive Manufacturing Insight’ (AMI), an international conference and pavilion on additive manufacturing technology where attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the state-of-the-art in 3D printing and latest technological advances in 3D printers and its application for the Indian market.
Lasers are the central tool in 3D printing, which is just on the cusp of industrial production. Reason enough to give each of these two areas of innovation their own special conference at the LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA.

IEEE Photonics will be organizing 4 industrial short courses concurrent to LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA, scheduled between September 14–16, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Please find below the course details:
1) Fiber Lasers and Applications
This short course deals with fundamentals and applications of fiber lasers:
Fiber lasers are usually meant to be lasers with optical fibers as gain media, although some lasers with a semiconductor gain medium (a semiconductor optical amplifier) and a fiber resonator have also been called fiber lasers (or semiconductor fiber lasers). Also, devices containing some kind of laser (e.g. fiber-coupled laser diodes) and a fiber amplifier are often called fiber lasers (or fiber laser systems). Recently fiber lasers have gained much importance due to their applications in material processing (marking, engraving, cutting), telecommunications, spectroscopy, medicine and directed energy weapons.
2) Ultrafast Lasers and Medical Applications of Lasers
This course will cover medical applications of ultrafast lasers:
The term ultrafast lasers is often used for mode-locked lasers emitting ultrashort pulses, i.e. pulses with durations of femtoseconds or picoseconds. A more precise term is actually ultrashort pulse lasers. They have a great variety of applications in medicine.
3) Nanophotonics and Nano-Technology
This short course will give an overview of basics and applications of the topic:
Nanophotonics or nano-optics is the study of the behavior of light on the nanometer scale, which is a hot topic for both academic research as well as industrial applications. Nanotechnology enables and drives applications in medicine, electronics, food, fuel cells, solar cells, batteries, space, fuels and many more.
4) Fundamentals of Fiber Optics and Waveguides
Optical fiber is an integral part of telecommunications nowadays, and its use for sensing applications is increasing day by day. On the other side integrated optical waveguides have applications in making components and photonic circuit. This short course gives an expert overview of both of them with the use of simulation software to make fundamentals clear.
